the lights

We got to spend a fun day downtown with Nana, Papa, Kelly and Josh. We started of at Crown Burger with their tasty sweet potato fries, then went swimming at our hotel for a while. James was in heaven and Thatcher was a little more cautious (ok, a lot more cautious). It has only been a few months since we have been swimming, but Thatcher clung to me like he was going to die if he let go. After swimming we headed to the Grand America to see the gingerbread houses and go on a little scavenger hunt which ended with the tastiest shortbread cookies I have ever had. We nibbled on those and listened to some live music in the lobby and then made our way to the Lion House. Dinner was fabulous as usual. James discovered a love for mashed potatoes and Thatcher a love for Jello. We made 4 separate trips to the restrooms with no successes...Thatcher did a great job of holding it and decided the discomfort was worth not having to go on a public toilet. We ended the evening walking through temple square and seeing the lights. It was beautiful as usual and the boys did a great job considering they were up two hours past their bedtime. It was a memorable day!
