Random recap

Random phone pictures from my old phone. Just didn't want to not have a few of these memories. So sad how fast my little ones are growing up.

One of my favorite all time pics. I miss those little boys.

 Hadley, Hadley, Hadley.

Costumes, costumes, costumes.

James showing off his first real haircut.
 Little no neck Hadley.
James's handiwork. Our pea plants went from towering to shreds in a very short amount of time, partially in thanks to a naughty rampage by our little terror.

Hadley showing off her Christmas dress.

placemats and primary people

I have done two little side projects this last week that were fun. The primary chorister I work with asked me to make people from different countries that we would use for learning a song and then again in the program. I do not have an artistic bone in my body, but I grabbed a pencil, gathered my inspiration from pinterest, and channeled my Grandma's talent into making these:

Then I made these placemats inspiration stolen from pinterest as well. They make me happy though.

Life in Castle Rock

I have been in heaven living so close to Denver where there is shopping (I never knew I would consider it such an exciting thing to get to go to Hobby Lobby, Costco, and IKEA) and fun stuff to do with the kids. After living in a town for so long where there was nothing to do, I am taking advantage of all the fun things there are. We have a zoo pass a children's museum pass and we have spent a lot of time at the rec center pool, the awesome library, and at the cool parks here. The kids love the zoo and the children's museum and we have been able to go with the Zundels a few times and with Jenna and Treyson once.

Children's museum pics from the last few months

The zoo has been so much fun too. It takes a while to get there, but it is so nice to be outside and I love seeing the boys excited to see certain animals. Their favorite are the fish, turtles and kimodo dragons. Our first experience with the zoo was an unforgettable night.
We went for zoo lights with some really nice people from Ty's work who had invited us for dinner then to go to the zoo. We got to the zoo when the boys should have been in bed. It was freezing. We parked at least a mile away from the entrance. Waited in the longest line. Then it started to snow. We ended up meeting up with our hosts (we didn't have anyone's numbers) when we are on the opposite end of the zoo from the entrance. And right then is when our kids lost it. Both Thatcher and James completely lost it. Ty ran to get the car. It was pretty much a blizzard at this point. I tried to get to the entrance with my screaming children and double stroller. By the time Ty pulled the car around, Hadley (who had been sleeping the whole time with a blanket over her) had at least of inch of snow piled on her. It was freezing and mortifying and just a crazy night. The entire drive home was pretty scary too because of the snow. So...when I went back to the zoo after that I had a serious pit in my stomach. But we have loved it ever since...just don't know if we will be doing zoo lights again next year.

Here are some zoo pics. We have been with the Zundels, with a friend from the ward, and with Maggie twice. It is so much more fun to go with a friend.

I love it here. I love the crazy unpredictable weather. The sun. The people. The recreation. Our house. It really is a great place. Here are the boys ready to devour their Valentines cake.
Love these three.
