soccer

Thatcher's soccer season ended a few weeks ago. I can't believe I have a little boy big enough to play soccer. He loved it and was such a good sport about always being a few feet behind the action. He loved to run and had a few moments of "brilliance" as Ty put it. The very last game Thatcher made his first goal of the season and actually scored three times (once for the other team, and once thanks to the star player who passed the ball to Thatcher so he could make a goal).

Thatcher was one happy kid. The day of his last game we had a soccer party and he got his trophy (that he has slept with almost every night since).

August...in review

I can't believe August is almost over. This month has flown faster than most. Here are the highlights:
With Thatcher riding a big boy bike, James has retired his wiggle bike and is now riding the balance bike and loving it. I think I am going to have two little bike riders before I know it.

Hadley is continuing to be the sweetest, most loving, angelic baby in the world. She is pure sunshine. We are working on helping her sleep through the night and she is doing pretty good so far. She has started to laugh all the time and loves being a part of the action. We all love her and we are all so grateful for our special little Hadley.

Hadley actually fell onto the bed right as I was trying to snap a picture of her standing on her own. Poor girl. We will try again for a standing picture in another month or two.

As much as James gets a bad rap, he really can be a happy, funny, considerate little boy. He is super smart, he loves reading, learning, having me take pictures of him, living off of otter pops, and is the craziest kid I have ever known. He also loves his family and is his happiest when we are all together. If there is ever anyone missing he is constantly asking where they are and is anxious for them to wake up/get home from work/get home from preschool/etc.

We have spent the last two Sunday afternoons and one Saturday morning at the cabin. While the boys go crazy in the water, I have picked berries. We have had berries with ice cream, berries to snack on, blackberry cobbler, and now have three batches of jam and two full gallon size bags in the freezer for future smoothies.

The weather here has been crazy. It is sunny every morning, but by the afternoon it is usually rainy with thunderstorms. The other day we had a crazy storm that I had to take pictures of. The hail ruined our pea plants that were growing beautifully, we had a pile of hale on the trampoline that stayed all day, and we couldn't even see the grassy area across from our house because it was so flooded.

I have also been busy with:
Helping out with youth conference and decorating for a football themed dinner (thanks to my new calling as beehive advisor)

Planning our 'Ward Olympics' at our ward campout. It ended up being a lot of fun and everyone was a great sport. Our family won gold for 'Best Flag' and silver in 'Archery' (aka- ty shooting a styrofoam cup off of my head with a PVC pipe and marshmallows at the longest distance).

Tackling a few projects. One of them was making a bunch of magnet boards for future gifts. I have been adding personalized vinyl on the base and they have been fun to give to friends.
