June

I can't believe June is almost over. Some highlights of the month have included:

-Soccer. Thatcher has been so excited to play soccer. The first week he wore his shin guards and tall blue socks and jersey every day. He ended up running around with no shorts on because they would fall off him. So cute. He has definite moments of "soccer brilliance" as Ty put it and will get a burst of energy where he runs full speed down the field kicking the soccer ball, but most of the time he joins in with the other boys picking grass, getting distracted, and just being a funny four-year-old.

- Thatcher-sims:
Whenever we ask Thatcher what he learned in primary it is usually something about popcorn and how it doesn't really grow on trees. Yesterday he gave us the same answer and then started talking about apricots. I asked him what an apricot was and he informed me that, "Apricots are made out of corn." Such a smart kid.

One day we were in the van and Thatcher did not stop singing and talking to himself in the way back for 20 minutes straight. It was funny at first, but he just kept going for so long it started to get old. Right be fore we got home, Thatcher said, "Turn it off". Ty and I had a good laugh (which made Thatcher laugh too) because that is exactly what we were thinking.

Thatcher loves to be funny and loves to have pictures of him. If I get a picture of him doing something he thinks is funny it makes his day!

- James being naughty...and cute:

It's cute when he says, "That's awesome", "Are you ok guys?", "That's my Easter" (translation: "That's my sister"), and pretty much anything that comes out of his mouth. It is also cute that he gives Hadley his pig and blanket at every chance (this is what I regularly find when I go in to check on her during her nap).
...But it is naughty when he dumps sand on the trampoline, goes in to destruction mode and destroys everything he can see, punches Hadley in the belly, bites Thatcher, and wipes my brand new mascara all over his bum and belly.

- Thatcher continues to love his sister all day every day. Today she was smiling at him a ton when he was singing her a song "Rock a bye, I love you", then he wanted to sit next to her when she was asleep on the couch, then tonight he fell asleep holding her hand while they snuggled together in his bed. I just love the two of them.

- We also celebrated our 5 year anniversary with a night out on the town. Dinner, frozen yogurt, and a movie with an angel Hadley. We also got to celebrate Ty on Father's day with loads of treats and his favorite dinner at the cabin. Usually by the end of June I am pretty burned out with all the celebrating and this year is no exception. Between Easter and Father's day we now celebrate 4 birthdays, our anniversary, Mother's day, and a ton of other birthdays in Ty's family. It is a crazy time of year.
