Easter

I love Easter and we had a good one this year. Saturday was full of two community Easter egg hunts. One with a helicopter dropping eggs, and another with a big blow up slide, an Easter bunny (Hadley wasn't so sure), and a train. We also dyed eggs and got ready for the big day.

On Sunday the boys were excited to get their baskets and candy. I made the boys (including Ty) bows and arrows complete with bags for their arrows and they loved them. We had donuts and chocolate milk for breakfast and then headed to church at  8am! Even though church is super early I still attempted to get pictures of my beautiful kids. I should have known it would be a disaster.

James gave his first  talk. It took a lot of work condensing it enough so James would feel comfortable with it, then while at the microphone Ty condensed it even more so it was probably the shortest talk ever given, but it was still cute. It went something like this:
Jesus is my Savior.
He loves me and I love him.
Today is Easter.
Jesus was resurrected.
Because he was resurrected we can all live again.
In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

After church we did an egg hunt in the house, then got ready for a nice Easter dinner. The Zundels came over and we ate outside, had an outside egg hunt, ate a bunny cake (because we definitely needed more sugar), and then rode bikes outside for a long time. My favorite part of watching the boys do their egg hunts was James. He would crack open every egg like he was making cookies and dump the candy into his basket before moving on to the next egg. It was so cute even though it meant more work for us because we had to pick up all the opened eggs as well as hide them. It was a great day (minus the fact that Ty had to leave the party early to catch a flight to SLC for work...then his flight was cancelled, so he came home after the kids were in bed and then had to wake up at 3:45 the next morning to catch another flight). James finally got a replacement for his shreds that he has been sleeping with for way too long. He was so happy with his new blanket that he threw the green one away himself.
